Psychological and Emotional Wellbeing

Elderly people can experience a range of emotions as they are affected by changes in their health or life circumstances. These changes may bring on feelings of frustration, loss of confidence, anxiety, loneliness and isolation.

The move into residential aged care can be a difficult transition and bring about mixed feelings of uncertainty, sadness and loss. This can be particularly difficult when your move into residential care is following a crisis, with little time to emotionally prepare for this move.  We understand the challenges experienced by loved ones and their families in these circumstances.  Our experienced Social Workers can assist with this transition, providing you with practical and emotional support to assist you during this difficult time.

WHAT CAN WE DO:

Listen to your concerns and support you to manage these issues.

  • Provide therapeutic strategies to help manage the difficult transition phase
  • Provide advocacy for you in challenging circumstances
  • Adjustment counselling support
